Job Overview

Our accounting firm client in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Accountant with6+ years of experience from an accounting firm background. This is a fully remote opportunity, but you must be based in Cape Town as occasional client visits may be required.

Salary and Requirements

The salary is R520,000 plus bonus, depending on experience and qualifications. To be considered, you must have a financial accounting qualification (e.g., degree) and solid experience as an Accountant/Senior Accountant from an accounting firm.

Responsibilities

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Accurate processing of Pastel income statement and balance sheet items
• Monthly journals and reconciliations of general ledgers
• Maintaining fixed asset registers
• Reconciling customer and supplier ledgers
• VAT reconciliations
• Salary processing and SARS reconciliations
• Preparing financial statements
• Income tax calculations and submissions
• Assisting the Manager as required
• Supervising junior accountants
• Professional communication with colleagues and clients
• CIPC-related work
