- You need to show strong academic performance, with a minimum of 70% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), English, and all your other subjects.

- You should be currently enrolled at your school and have been there for at least one year. Good news: you won’t need to move schools if you get the bursary!
- Your current school also plays a role! It should meet these standards:
- A minimum 90% Matric pass rate.
- At least 80% of Matric students qualifying for university entrance.
- A minimum of 75% of their students taking Pure Mathematics.
- At least 75% of Pure Mathematics students achieving 50% or more.
- A minimum of 80% of English students achieving 50% or more.
- The school must offer a supportive and holistic learning environment.
