Who Can Apply?

- You must be a proud South African citizen.
- You need to be studying (or planning to study) full-time towards a 3-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree.
- Your studies must be in one of these exciting ICT-related fields:
- Applied Computing (BSc)
- Computer Science (BSc)
- Informatics (BCom)
- Information Systems (BCom / BSc)
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in your most recent exams.
- You must meet all the entry requirements for your chosen course of study at your university.
- You must be studying or intend to study at a recognised and accredited public university right here in South Africa.
- Bonus points if you’ve completed and excelled in The Computer Programming Olympiad (an IITPSA project)!
What Does It Cover?
This awesome bursary from IITPSA is designed to ease your financial burden so you can focus on your studies. If successful, it will cover:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Exam fees

Just a heads-up: it won’t cover repeat subjects or modules, so aim for success the first time around! When you apply online, you’ll need to submit clear copies of these documents. No missing items, please!
- A clear, recent head-and-shoulders photograph of yourself.
- Certified copy of your South African ID document.
- If you’re still in Matric, include your Grade 11 final results and Matric June results.
- If you’ve completed Matric, submit your Matric certificate.
- Your full academic record and your latest available results (e.g., June 2025 examination results or a progress report).
- Proof of your parents’ or guardians’ household income. This could be:
- Latest payslips (if employed)
- An affidavit (if unemployed)
- An affidavit stating annual income (if self-employed)
- Most recent audited financial statement or 3 months’ most recent bank statements (if they own a business)
- SASSA letter stating grants received (if applicable)
- If your parents are deceased, their death certificates.
- If your parents are divorced or separated, a letter from the court stating child support amounts, or an affidavit from the parent stating the child support amount received.
