Who Can Apply?
Alright, so you’re keen? Here’s what you need to be eligible for this awesome opportunity:
- You need an **NQF Level 5 Qualification** in one of these exciting fields:
- Business
- Economics
- Finance
- Human Resources
- Management Assistant
- Public Administration
- Got those computer skills? You’ll need to be **computer literate** with MS Office and internet know-how.
- You’re a great communicator – professional and clear!
- **Bonus points** if you have:
- At least **1 year’s experience** coordinating programmes for unemployed learners.
- **Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.**
- You should also be **proficient in at least two of the Western Cape’s official languages** (Afrikaans, English, and/or IsiXhosa).
What Will You Do?
As a Garden Route Skills Mecca Technician Intern, your day-to-day could look something like this:
- Working with Training and Development Units in municipalities to figure out what skills employers really need.
- Hunting for funding opportunities and helping to draft proposals for exciting skills development projects.
- Putting together, managing, and presenting quarterly reports at the **Municipal Skills INDABA** – you’ll be in the spotlight!
- Organizing and coordinating important meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
- Supporting the **Garden Route Skills Mecca** with everything from recruitment to managing learners in various skills programmes.
- Jumping into mentoring and training initiatives led by the District Municipality.
What Does It Cover?
Good news! While you’re gaining valuable experience, you’ll also receive:
- A **monthly stipend** (the exact amount will be confirmed once you’re appointed).
- **Important note:** No travelling expenses will be covered. So, only apply if you already live within the beautiful Garden Route District!
