Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for this life-changing fellowship, here’s what you need:
- Age Check: You must be between 20-36 years old as of April 1, 2026.
- Language Skills: You need to be fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Project Power: You should already be involved in a social change project or have a super clear, well-articulated plan to launch one during the fellowship year. (They prefer ongoing projects, but if your vision is strong and you have the expertise, resources, and community connections, you’re in with a shot!).
- Community Knowledge: Show that you know your community and the issues your project addresses inside out. Preferably, you’ll have at least one year of experience working with that community.
- Mindful Maverick: Be open and interested in learning and engaging in contemplative practices throughout the year – it’s a big part of the program!
- Commitment is Key: You’ll need to fully commit to all parts of the program, including online learning, one-on-one coaching calls, and group sessions. (Budget about 12 hours per month, not including your project work).
- Global Assembly: You must attend the Contemplative Leadership Assembly in May 2026. Don’t worry about costs – the Dalai Lama Fellowship will cover ALL your travel, lodging, and meals!
