Bursary Description

Vergenoeg Mining Company (Pty) Ltd invites qualifying applicants pursuing or intending to further their studies in specific engineering fields to apply for its External Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must:

  • Be studying or intending to study a Degree or National Diploma in the above fields at a recognised/accredited South African university or university of technology.
  • Be already at tertiary level or able to submit a certified academic record.
  • Have a minimum 60% pass rate for all subjects for the current academic year.
  • Not be receiving another bursary for the same period.
  • Have completed Grade 12 with matriculation exemption and an average level 5 for all study fields.
  • Submit a motivation letter stating your reason for applying.

What the Bursary Covers

The bursary award will include:

  • Registration and tuition fees
  • Prescribed books (up to an agreed amount)
  • Meals and accommodation (on or off campus, verified with landlords or the institution)
  • Monthly living allowance (stipend)
