Bursary Description

Each year during September, the UWC community opens their hearts and wallets by supporting the UWC Staff Appeal – an initiative driven by the Alumni Relations Office. Through this campaign, we encourage regular, affordable giving – whether a monthly or a once-off gift. Your support makes an enormous difference at UWC. Donating is easy and hassle-free. All you are required to do is complete the payroll deduction form, and HR will ensure that your once-off or monthly donation is deducted directly from your salary.

Let’s build a brighter future together.

UWC Legacy Fund

The UWC Legacy Fund aims to raise funds for the development and enhancement of infrastructure at the University. This fund is intended to coincide with the Institution’s 100th Anniversary in 2060, or earlier if the target of R1 billion is reached sooner.

UWC has grown in leaps and bounds, and while still offering qualifications in the traditional areas it was established to cater for, as a modern institution, it needs to create facilities to offer qualifications for jobs that haven’t been envisaged yet.

We want our Alumni to contribute to and drive this changing landscape. Support and change the future of our UWC: https://uwc.devman.co.za/devman/Legacy/Debit/

UWC Access To Success

The Access to Success (A2S) fundraising campaign aims to raise funds to assist students to graduate debt-free and relieve their financial burden while they seek employment. A diverse range of fundraising activities demonstrates UWC’s commitment to engaging various community stakeholders.

The inclusion of a Women’s Day lunch is an initiative intended to address the unique challenges that women may face in accessing education and financial support to complete their studies. By focusing on this group, A2S shows its dedication to promoting gender equality and empowering female students.

Since its inception in 2016, as a response to the Fees Must Fall movement, A2S has already raised over R1 million and has supported close to 400 students, thereby showcasing the positive impact the campaign has had on the lives of many students.
