Please note that the amounts specified below are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

Undergraduate Programs:

You may be eligible for the UdeM exemption scholarship if you have been admitted to a bachelor’s degree program. The scholarship’s value is determined solely based on the excellence of your academic record, assessed using the transcripts submitted during the admission application. The assessment results will determine the amount you may receive. If your file does not qualify for either level A or B after the assessment, you will not be granted the UdeM exemption scholarship.

  • Level A: $13,340.40 per year (equivalent to 2 sessions, or 30 credits) or $6,670.20 per session (15 credits) or $444.68 per credit.
  • Level B: $6,357.60 per year (equivalent to 2 sessions, or 30 credits) or $3,178.80 per session (15 credits) or $211.92 per credit.

These amounts are applied to tuition fees of $27,101.70 per year (for 30 credits). Please note that fees are subject to change without notice.

Graduate Programs (Masters):

To support international students in their graduate studies, a partial exemption scholarship is available to reduce the additional tuition fees typically charged to international students.

  • Non-research: $10,474.65 per year (equivalent to 3 sessions, or 45 credits) or $3,491.55 per session (15 credits) or $232.77 per credit. This applies to tuition fees of $30,829.50 per year (45 credits).

  • Research: $10,347.75 per year (equivalent to 3 sessions, or 45 credits) or $3,449.25 per session (15 credits) or $229.95 per credit. This is applied to tuition fees of $29,592 per year (45 credits).

For writing and correction sessions, the same tuition fees as those charged to Québec students will be applied.

PhD Graduate Programs:

To assist you in your graduate studies as an international student, there is a comprehensive exemption from the additional tuition fees typically imposed on international students.

This exemption scholarship enables you to enjoy the same tuition fees as graduate students from Québec.

  • $22,241.25 per year (equivalent to 3 sessions, or 45 credits) or $7,413.75 per session (15 credits) or $494.25 per credit. This rate is applied to the tuition fees of $26,562.60 per year (45 credits)*.

For writing and correction sessions, tuition fees identical to those charged to Québec students will be applicable.

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is open to international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

The UdeM exemption scholarship is designed for international students, with the exception of those from France and French-speaking Belgium. To qualify, applicants must:

  1. Have received an offer of admission to a study program at UdeM starting from the Fall of 2020.
  2. Possess valid study authorizations, including the Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and a study permit, for all sessions throughout the duration of their study program. For detailed immigration procedures, please refer to the immigration procedures webpage.
  3. Maintain full-time enrollment continuously throughout their entire study program, unless an approved absence is granted.
  4. Not be beneficiaries of any other type of tuition fee exemption.
  5. Not be enrolled in an independent study program.
  6. Not be admitted to undergraduate programs such as certificates, majors, minors, short programs, or preparatory year programs for university studies for the Winter 2024 session.

Failure to meet any of the above conditions may result in the withdrawal of the UdeM exemption scholarship.
