Bursary Description

Scholarship Description:

The Luxembourg Foreign Affairs Masters Scholarship prioritizes students from the University of Luxembourg’s network of international partners.

This scholarship aims to provide financial support to exceptional international Master’s students, enabling them to concentrate on their academic studies and relevant extracurricular activities.

The financial assistance is disbursed in monthly payments of 500EUR over a 10-month period per academic year, for a maximum duration of two years. Additionally, it includes complimentary accommodation in a student residence hall throughout the Master’s program. Payment is contingent on a performance evaluation and may be withheld in cases such as academic misconduct, unsatisfactory academic performance, or withdrawal from the Master’s program.

This scholarship cannot be combined with any other form of grant funded by the Luxembourg government.

Comprehensive terms and conditions are outlined in the acceptance letter issued by the University of Luxembourg. Recipients are required to sign a declaration of commitment as an acknowledgment of the Luxembourg Foreign Affairs Masters Scholarship’s terms and conditions.

Eligibility Criteria:

Laureates are chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Outstanding academic achievement
  • Originality of the personal statement and motivation for applying
  • Civic engagement, volunteer work or other extracurricular activities

The application procedure for acceptance into the relevant Master programme is separate to this Scholarship. Candidates are invited to visit the relevant master application webpage for deadlines. 

Applications will be evaluated by the course directors of the respective Master programmes. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview.
