Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered eligible for the Turkey Government Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English or Turkish is required.

Minimum Academic Standards required for Turkish Government Scholarships:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Applicants: Minimum academic achievement of 70%.
  • Master’s and Doctorate Degree Applicants: Minimum academic achievement of 75%.
  • Health Science (Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy) Applicants: Minimum academic achievement of 90%. Age Criteria:
  • Undergraduate Programs: Applicants must be under the age of 21.

  • Doctorate Programs: Applicants must be under the age of 35.

Eligible Groups:

Open to citizens of all countries, graduates or those on track to graduate by the end of the current academic year (before August 2022), researchers, and academicians.

Non-Eligible Groups:

  • Turkish citizens and individuals who have renounced Turkish citizenship.
  • Students currently enrolled in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying for. Other Requirements:
  • A TOEFL or IELTS certification is recommended as proof of English proficiency, indicating readiness for university-level English-language courses.
  • Submission of an official academic record detailing certificates, courses, and grades achieved during your academic career is advisable.
  • A well-structured statement of purpose (SOP) is required to articulate your intentions for participating in the scholarship program. An incomplete or inadequate SOP may result in rejection.
  • Applicants should not have significant health issues.
  • Short-term scholarship programs may have additional application requirements, and it is advisable to review these during the application period

Application Procedure:

Applications for Turkish government scholarships can only be made individually through www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr by the candidates. There are no institutions or persons authorized to apply for Türkiye Scholarships. Candidates applying at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels are welcome to apply between 10 January – 20 February. Research applicants can apply throughout the year.
