Program Fees and Expenses
The tuition for the IMD MBA program is CHF 80,000, with additional mandatory fees of CHF 17,500 covering all program and project-related expenses for the year. This includes access to IMD’s world-class campus facilities and services, travel accommodation for all IMD-organized projects, leadership career coaching, all books and learning materials, and fully equipped MBA-dedicated study rooms. The BackPack Foundation Board Statement
The BackPack Foundation Board expects the successful applicant to be committed to pursuing a meaningful career in leadership. Upon graduation, the recipient will be expected to draw upon her skills to catalyze positive change. The foundation aspires to attract Ukrainian women who can become pivotal leaders in their field, acting as role models for others to advance in business or in public life.

The IMD MBA BackPack-Excellence for Women will be managed and administered by the IMD Scholarship Foundation, established in accordance with Articles 80 of the Swiss Civil Code, with a registered office in Lausanne. The scholarship will be paid directly to IMD to cover the fees.

The BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women
The BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women aims to provide a transformational experience to talented and driven Ukrainian women who have been forced to flee conflict, natural disaster, or persecution at some point in their lives. The scholarship covers the full cost of the program, amounting to CHF 133,500, which includes tuition, fees, and living expenses.
Eligibility and Application Process
Priority for the scholarship will be given to Ukrainian female candidates who have experienced the hardship of being forced to leave their homeland due to conflict or natural disaster, or because they were persecuted for their beliefs. Applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay on the topic: “Tell us, how, as a displaced woman, an MBA at IMD will be transformative for you and indirectly for other Ukrainian women.”
Applications for the scholarship are made through the admissions application form. Applicants are required to review the eligibility criteria for the various scholarship offerings, access the Financial Aid form from the finance section of the admissions MBA application form, complete the form, and check the box next to any scholarship(s) they meet the criteria for and wish to apply for. All requested documents, including the required essay, must be submitted.
Key Dates and Deadlines
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is 1 July 2023, and the recipient will be confirmed by 1 September 2023.
