The American University of Beirut (AUB), in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, offers full scholarships for international students during the academic year 2024-2025. This program offers full scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate strong academic potential but have limited financial resources. These students are also deeply connected to their communities, proactive in their surroundings, and possess a strong belief in their ability to effect positive change.
The American University of Beirut’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program scholarship is open to international students who wish to pursue a graduate degree in Lebanon. In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, AUB provides full scholarships for graduate education.
The AUB Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is designed to empower young individuals in their communities, home countries, and regions to become catalysts for positive change. In addition to their degree courses, the program requires scholars to participate in a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork.

Scholarship Benefits:
The initiative offers complete scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students who show strong academic potential, face financial constraints, exhibit a keen awareness of their communities’ issues, take proactive steps in their surroundings, and have confidence in their capacity to create a positive impact.
Eligible Nationalities:
These scholarships are open to international students.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required.
- Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Comoros, and other African countries.
- Applicant Eligibility: Graduate scholarships are available for citizens of Africa, Lebanon, as well as refugees and displaced individuals in Lebanon.
- Selection Criteria: Candidates are chosen based on academic potential, financial need, leadership qualities, and a commitment to giving back to and returning to their communities.
- Transcripts: Official transcripts from all academic levels are necessary.
- Application: Submission of a graduate application through the online platform.
- Recommendation Letters: Two recommendation letters are required.
- Language Proficiency: IELTS or TOEFL scores are mandatory.
- Graduate Admission Tests: GMAT is a requirement for the MBA program, and GRE is essential for specific majors in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
- Application Fees: An application fee of $50 or L.L.75,000 is applicable.
