Scholarship Amount and Duration

For Bachelor’s Degree Programme

  • The Émile Boutmy scholarship is awarded to first-year students at Sciences Po.
  • The scholarship may take various forms:
    • A tuition grant of €14,210 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
    • A tuition grant of €9,500 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
    • A tuition grant of €6,500 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
    • A tuition grant of €3,900 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
  • The scholarship is forfeited if the academic year is not validated or if admission is deferred. During the year abroad (third year of the undergraduate program), scholarship recipients retain their tuition fee grant.
  • The Émile Boutmy scholarship is automatically renewed if the student continues their graduate studies at Sciences Po.

For Master’s Level

  • The Émile Boutmy scholarship is awarded to first-year students starting their Master’s degree at Sciences Po.
  • It is a tuition grant of €13,100 (amount for 2023; the 2024 amount is pending confirmation) per year for each of the two years of the Master’s degree program.
  • The amount may be recalculated yearly to accommodate tuition fee changes, if applicable.
  • The scholarship is lost if the academic year is not validated or if admission is deferred.

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is open to international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible Candidates:

  • First-time applicants
  • Non-European Union state citizens
  • Households that do not pay taxes within the European Union
  • Admitted to an undergraduate or master’s program

Ineligible Candidates:

  • Swiss and Norwegian applicants (may have access to CROUS scholarships)
  • Those with dual citizenship, including EU citizenship
  • Quebec candidates for master’s degrees (access to sliding scale fees)
  • Candidates for specific programs (e.g., Joint Master in Journalism and International Affairs)
  • Ph.D. program students (thesis)
  • Candidates for one-year Master’s programs
  • Bachelor dual-degree candidates (unless under specific agreements)
  • Exchange students
  • Candidates using the French graduate admission procedure

Exclusivity:

  • The Émile Boutmy scholarship cannot be combined with other scholarships (Eiffel scholarship, AEFE scholarship, BGF, etc.).
