Bursary Description

Promaths invites former learners of Kutlwanong Maths, Science and Technology Centre to apply for the Promaths Bursary Fund for the 2026 academic year. This bursary is tailor-made for Promaths alumni who have shown academic excellence but lack financial resources to pursue tertiary education.

What Is the Promaths Bursary?

The Promaths Bursary Fund is a special initiative supported by Investec and administered by StudyTrust, aimed at helping Promaths alumni succeed beyond high school. Promaths has spent over 17 years equipping learners with advanced skills in Mathematics and Physical Science, and the bursary ensures deserving students aren’t held back by financial barriers.


Promaths Bursary Objectives

  • Fund tertiary education for Promaths alumni who are academically and financially deserving.
  • Support students throughout their studies to improve graduation rates.
  • Reduce the number of talented learners unable to access higher education.
  • Foster role models within communities where Promaths operates.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Promaths Bursary Fund, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have attended a Promaths or Kutlwanong Centre in any part of the country.
  • Be accepted or enrolled at a South African tertiary institution.
  • Be pursuing a degree or diploma in a rare skill field (e.g., engineering, commerce, medicine, aviation).

Fund Administration

The Promaths Bursary is:

  • Operated independently of its donors.
  • Managed by StudyTrust, a reputable bursary management organisation partnered with Investec since 2007.

How to Apply for the Promaths Bursary 2026

  1. Applications are open from 01 May to 30 September 2025.
  2. Visit StudyTrust’s application platform.
  3. Complete the online application before the closing date.
  4. Ensure all supporting documentation is uploaded correctly.
