Student leadership – be it focused on environmental protection or betterment of the community – is set to be recognized.
And rewarded.
The Rotary Club of Milton is currently accepting submissions for its youth volunteer scholarships.
This year’s program includes three $1,000 Rotary bursaries for community service and two $1,000 Rockwool scholarships honouring environmental leadership.
Those applying must be local residents graduating high school this year, and have exceeded their 40-hour volunteer requirement.
Selection will be based on leadership, commitment to community and a 750 to 1,000-word written essay outlining their volunteer efforts, contributions to aiding the environment and commitment to fostering peace.
Academic standing will be taken into account, but isn’t a primary consideration.
Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, Apr. 30. Winners will be notified by mid-May. Click here for more details and to apply.
