Scholarship Description:
The Arturo Falaschi Postdoctoral Fellowships for 2024-2025 present an excellent opportunity for those aspiring to pursue postdoctoral research. These fellowships, currently open for applications, offer full funding to international students. The fellowship duration spans 2 years, with the potential for a 1-year extension. The comprehensive fellowship package includes a competitive stipend, health insurance, and additional perks. Notably, the most outstanding fellows may, upon completion, apply for ICGEB Early Career Research Grants, facilitating their research initiatives as young Principal Investigators upon their return to an ICGEB Member State.

The ICGEB Arturo Falaschi Fellowship Programs, named in honor of Prof. Arturo Falaschi, a visionary force behind the Centre’s establishment, encompass five categories of long and short-term PhD and Postdoctoral awards. These opportunities are available to scientists who are citizens of ICGEB Member States, enabling them to engage in research activities in Trieste, New Delhi, or Cape Town.

Scholarship Benefits:
The Arturo Falaschi Postdoctoral Fellowships offer recipients a comprehensive set of benefits, including:
Monthly stipend:
- Trieste (Italy): 2,000 Euros
- New Delhi (India): 1,590 US Dollars
- Cape Town (South Africa): 18,750 South African Rand
Travel: The fellowship covers travel expenses for participants from their home country to the ICGEB lab at the start of the fellowship, as well as return travel upon its completion.
Medical health insurance: Fellows receive medical health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their fellowship.
Research funding: All research-related expenses are supported through the research group’s budget.
Visa/permit costs: Costs associated with visa/permit application and renewal are reimbursed.
Support for Meetings and Courses: Generally, support for participation in meetings and courses is provided by the Group Leader / PI.
It’s important to note that ICGEB does not provide financial assistance or administrative support for family members of program participants. Additionally, each ICGEB location (Trieste, New Delhi, and Cape Town) offers different accommodation arrangements or support services for fellows.

Eligible Nationalities:
This scholarship is open to international students of all nationalities.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Arturo Falaschi Postdoctoral Fellowships, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required.
Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of an ICGEB Member State. They are not allowed to apply for fellowships to be conducted in their home country, unless they have been working abroad for a minimum of 3 years at the time of application.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a recent PhD in the field of Life Sciences.
Research Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of research experience.
Age Limit: Preference is given to candidates who are under the age of 35.
