Hortgro invites South African students to apply for their Bursary Programme for the 2026 academic year.

Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following fields:
- Agri-Management
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Agricultural Economics
- Agricultural Science
- Entomology
- Horticulture (Production / Post-harvest)
- Marketing Specialist
- Microbiology
- Plant Pathology
- Project Management
- Soil and Water Science
Bursary Expectations
Bursary recipients are expected to:
- Provide quarterly updates to Hortgro on academic progress and well-being
- Submit semester results
- Maintain good conduct during their studies
- Attend Hortgro events and functions
- Maintain satisfactory performance to renew the bursary each year
- Work with a mentor provided by Hortgro
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric or currently be in Matric
- Be pursuing or intending to pursue a qualification in one of the listed fields
- Be registered or intending to register at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa
- Meet the admission requirements for the selected course
