Bursary Description

  • Do you wish to be an agent of change within your respected community?
  • Do you want to promote awareness and make a difference in your community about issues like HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence and Mental Health?
  • Do you seek to enhance your leadership abilities, community participation, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, and be better prepared to apply for future employment opportunities?

Application Criteria:

  • 2nd ,3rd and post graduate students
  • Academically Strong
  • Passion for peer to peer mentoring and engagement
  • Willingness to work as a volunteer for 1 year
  • Must be open to growth and learning
  • Must be passionate about promoting health and wellness in areas like HIV&AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Mental Health and Gender-Based Violence.

If you are afforded the peer educator role, you will be eligible to enrol in the Civic Education and Soft Skills Programme (NQF Level 5), provided by Higher Health.

Documents required:

  • Abbreviated CV (should not exceed two pages)
  • Motivational Letter: Briefly outline why you would want to be a peer educator and how you would contribute to the programme. Your response should not exceed a page,
