CETA invites South African student to apply for Thapelo Madibeng Bursary Programme 2025 academic year.

- Building Arts (BA)
- Building Construction or equivalent (N4 to N6)
- Civil Engineering (BSc to PhD)
- Climate Change Science (All levels to PhD)
- Construction BIM (All levels to PhD)
- Construction Economics (BSc to PhD)
- Construction Management (BSc to PhD)
- Construction Studies (BSc to PhD)
- Electrical Engineering (N4 to N6)
- Environmental Management (All levels to PhD)
- Geomatics (BSc to PhD)
- Property Development (BSc)
- Quantity Surveying (BSc to PhD)
- Real Estate (National Diploma)
- Urban and Regional Planning (BSc to PhD)
- Other construction-related fields
Expenses Covered by the Bursary
The bursary will provide funding for the following:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation and meals
- Transport fees (subject to conditions)
- Research allowance (for Masters and PhD students)
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the bursary, applicants must meet these requirements:
- South African citizen
- Unemployed at the time of application
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Studying or planning to study towards a qualification in the built environment field (undergraduate or postgraduate)
- Registered or accepted to study at a public institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology, or TVET College)
- Minimum overall average of 50%
- Household income of less than R800,000 per year
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online via the bursary’s official application portal. When applying, make sure to include the following documents:
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Matric latest results (if currently in Matric)
- Matric certificate (if you have completed Matric)
- Full tertiary academic record (if currently studying)
- Proof of acceptance to study at a tertiary institution (on letterhead)
- Quotation of student fees (if available)
- Parents/guardians’ ID documents or death certificates (certified copies)
- Proof of parents/guardians’ income (latest 3 months’ payslips or affidavit if unemployed)
- Proof of home address (municipal account, bank statement, etc.)
- Copy of SASSA card (if receiving a SASSA grant)
- Details of other funding (NSFAS or other SETAs, if applicable)
- Medical certificate (if disabled)
