These positions are open exclusively to South African citizens who are available from August to October 2025.
Artistic director
Applicants with experience in musical theatre will be given strong consideration. The Artistic Director will be responsible for leading and facilitating the performing arts segment of the programme, including curating rehearsals scheduled from 6 to 10 October 2025. The selected candidate will work in collaboration with an assistant choreographer and assistant vocal coach.
The artistic director will be tasked with conceiving, developing and implementing a creative vision aligned with this year’s theme, culminating in the ACT Nyoloha Scholarship Programme gala event on 11 October 2025.
Stage manager
The stage manager will coordinate the production process from rehearsals through to the final performances, working closely with the Artistic Director to ensure a seamless execution of the programme. This role will run from 5 to 12 October 2025 and includes managing the technical aspects that support the artistic vision of the gala event.

Programme details
Successful applicants will participate in a three-month, bi-weekly mentorship and training programme conducted online on Saturdays. The programme features expert-led mentorship sessions, focusing on discipline-specific knowledge, professional development and the application of immersive technologies in the arts.
Following the training phase, 15 finalists will be selected to attend an intensive week of masterclasses and rehearsals. This will culminate in a final showcase and exhibition, where two scholarships – each worth R300 000 – will be awarded. Participants will gain hands-on experience, collaborate with industry professionals and engage with fellow emerging artists from diverse backgrounds.
