Borno State Scholarship Board Opens 2024/2025 Undergraduate Scholarship Applications

The Borno State Scholarship Board (BSSB) has officially opened the application process for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic session undergraduate scholarships for students from Borno State. Fresh Master’s students in their first year of study are also included in the 2024/2025 Borno State Scholarship application.

According to a statement released by the Board, the scholarship is for indigenes studying Arts, Arts Education, Humanities, Languages, Social and Management Sciences in accredited institutions across Nigeria.

“This initiative is part of our commitment to support young people from Borno State in their academic journey,” the Board noted. Students are allowed to apply for multiple scholarships provided the eligibility criteria and deadlines do not conflict.

To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. They must be bonafide indigenes of Borno State.
2. They should be in their first year, Part I and Direct Entry Part II for university students, ND I and HND I for polytechnics and colleges, and NCE I for colleges of education.
3. Applicants must be fully registered students of their institutions.

Applicants are expected to upload a recent passport photograph with a red background, their admission letter, and their registration receipt. Other required documents include a valid form of identification such as a National ID card or birth certificate, academic transcripts, proof of residence, and recommendation letters.

The Board has also encouraged students with disabilities to apply.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications online through the official website at bssb.bo.gov.ng before the deadline on Tuesday, 14th August 2025. A statement from the Board added, “Applicants will be required to pay an application fee, and they must print their completed application form along with the necessary documents.”

Successful candidates will be notified via email or SMS once the selection process is complete.
