Four bursaries are available, offering accommodation for five nights, free admission to all the Summer School events, a creative writing course including six hours of tuition over three days, as well as some meals.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Ciarán McQuillan commented: “The acclaimed writer John Hewitt is long associated with the Glens of Antrim and Cushendun, Cushendall where he lived for some years.

“He loved the area, and it inspired and features in much of his work. We are delighted to honour this by continuing our valuable partnership with the John Hewitt Society and supporting emerging writers in the Causeway Coast and Glens.”

Applications are only open to individuals aged over 18 years who are resident in Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and beginners/emerging writers are welcome to apply.
