Amandla Omoya Trust invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2026

Bursary Application Closing Date: 31 October 2025
Bursary Location: Within 50km radius of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm, Eastern Cape, South Africa


The Amandla Omoya Trust, which owns shares in the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm for the benefit of local communities, is inviting students to apply for its 2026 bursary programme. This opportunity is open to individuals who reside within a 50km radius of the Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm and wish to pursue further studies at recognised South African tertiary education institutions.

The bursary supports studies at public or private TVET colleges, universities of technology, or academic universities, covering programmes at NQF level 6 and above — including technical, skills-based training (e.g. plumbing, bricklaying), national diplomas, and degree qualifications.


Who can apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Reside within 50km of Jeffreys Bay Wind Farm
  • Have been accepted at a recognised South African tertiary institution (public or private)
  • Have completed Grade 12 (NSC) or NTC
  • Demonstrate academic potential and financial need

Bursary coverage

The bursary may cover, depending on individual assessment:

  • Tuition, registration, and examination fees
  • Tertiary accommodation
  • Meals
  • Learning materials (textbooks, stationery, etc.)

Selection Criteria

  • Academic performance: Based on prelim/final Matric results or highest grade passed
  • Financial need: Must show insufficient financial resources to afford tertiary education
