Apply Now! 2025 Bursary Applications Are Open at the Africa Wetu Foundation. 

Their mission is to accelerate access to education for students in Africa through the effective mobilization of innovation, relationships, and resources with a vision to be part of the solution in empowering the young generation in Africa from disadvantaged communities to have access to further education and enhance their skills for a better tomorrow. 

They want to see a future where every student will be prepared for life after high school, whether the choice is to attend university or to obtain technical and vocational training.

The Africa Wetu Foundation Bursary Scheme for the 2025 academic year offers the following: Bursaries covering tuition only to students qualified to pursue a master’s degree (full time) OR a Certificate of Competency – Vocational (full time) at the following institutions and in the following faculties and/or departments/courses:

• University of Cape Town (UCT) – Faculty of Science School of IT (Incorporating Computer Science and Information Systems) – MSc
• University of the Western Cape (UWC) – Faculty of Natural Science Department of Computer Science – MSc
• Northlink College – Boilermaker (CBMT Phases 1 – 4) Fitter & Turner – Center of Specialisation (CoS) Occupational Program

Candidate Requirements

• South African citizens under the age of 30 with a proven financial need, as determined by household income.
• Students enrolled in a full-time master’s program or National Certificate (Vocational) (as described above).
• Applicants should be able to produce a complete study record of their preceding (undergraduate) years and must be pursuing their qualification level for the first time.
