Who Can Apply?

To be considered for these highly sought-after learnerships, here’s what Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore is looking for:

You must be between 18 and 35 years old.
For **Engineering Learnerships** (Diesel Mechanic, Instrumentation, Fitter, Boilermaker, Auto Electrician, Electrician, Rigger, Millwright): You need a Grade 12 certificate, an N2 certificate with 4 relevant subjects (Millwright applicants need a minimum of 5 relevant subjects), and you’ll need to pass a medical job-fit assessment (RFA).
For **Plant Learnerships** (Mineral Processing): You’ll need a Grade 12 / Technical N3 certificate, a valid South African Driver’s License, successfully pass medical job-fit assessments (RFA), and be able to obtain an LPCAT assessment & valid Fitness Certificate.
For **Mining Learnerships** (Open cast mining and mobile equipment): You’ll need a Grade 12 / Technical N3 certificate, a valid South African Driver’s License, successfully pass medical job-fit assessments (RFA), be able to obtain or possess a valid Kolomela VTS (Dover) certificate, and obtain a valid Fitness Certificate.

Heads-up! Preference will be given to candidates who are currently residing in the **Tsantsabane Municipality**. So if you’re local, your chances might be even better!

What Does It Cover?

These learnerships are designed to give you comprehensive training and support. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:

Engineering Learnerships (3 years)

Year 1: Institutional training at Sivos Technical Training Centre.
Year 2: Practical, on-the-job/core training directly at Kolomela Mine.
Year 3: Completion of your trade test!

Plant Learnerships (24 months) & Mining Learnerships (18 months)

A **monthly stipend/allowance** to help you out while you learn.
An **MQA Certificate** for Plant Learnerships, and a **Skills programme inclusive of experiential learning** for Mining Learnerships.
All the necessary **Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)** you’ll need to stay safe on site.
