Scholarship Description:

Singapore is one of the studying destinations, that never gets boring with its both seaside and skyscraper views. The city is home to 5.6 million residents of which a large portions are foriegn students. Singapore is a cosmopolitan dream and a home to international students. Singapore offers world-class education with professional experience. 

Singapore education system is divided into three subject areas. Institutes of Education—there is only one institute of education, the Institute of Technical Education – polytechnics offering specialized education and other institutes, like arts academies. Singapore has private and public schools and international branches of other insititutes as well. It follows European pattern for study timings; an undergraduate program normally takes three to four years to complete. While special programs, like medicine or engineering normally take four years.

The postgraduate degree normally takes two years to complete, while some postgraduate programs, like a teaching certificate, can be completed in one year. A doctoral program takes two to five years to complete. 

As a main hub for science, finance, and technology, Singapore has placed a strong emphasis on STEM subjects.

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration between the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and the Singapore Management University (SMU).

PhD training will be carried out in English at your chosen lab at A*STAR Research Institutes, NTU, NUS, SUTD or SMU. Students will be supervised by distinguished and world-renowned researchers in these labs. Upon successful completion, students will be conferred a PhD degree by either NTU, NUS, SUTD or SMU.

Degree Level:

SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE AWARD (SINGA) 2024 | Fully-Funded Scholarship is available to undertake PhD level programs at Nanyang Technological University Singapore, National University of Singapore, Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore Management University.

Scholarship Benefits:

The award provides support for up to 4 years of PhD studies including:

  • Tuition fees
  • Monthly stipend of S$2,200 which will be increased to S$2,700 after the passing of the Qualifying Examination
  • One-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500
  • One-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000

  • Open for application to all international graduates with a passion for research and excellent academic results
  • Good skills in written and spoken English
  • Good reports from academic referees

a. Valid Passport
b. A recent passport-sized photo (in .jpeg or .png format)

3.Transcripts & Reports
ALL transcripts need to be in English translation
Mandatory

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s academic transcripts.
Bachelor’s Degree certificate(s) / scroll(s) or a letter of certification from the university on your candidature if your degree certificate / scroll has not yet been conferred.
2 recommendation reports (to be completed and submitted online by the referees).

Optional

GRE / IELTS / TOEFL / SAT I & II / GATE results. However, do note that you may be requested by the university to submit satisfactory scores as part of the university admission requirement.
