

UX Designer III

Purpose of the Role
As a UX Designer III, you will:
- Apply your extensive UX expertise to influence and integrate UX standards across the product development lifecycle.
- Independently lead the successful end-to-end delivery (development, implementation, evaluation, and enhancement) of complex UX solutions.
- Ensure all designs align with business, product, and UX strategies, as well as Capitec’s brand fundamentals.
- Take ownership and decision-making authority for key UX initiatives.
What You’ll Need (Minimum Requirements)
Education:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Design.
Experience:
- 4-5 years of proven experience in User Experience design.
- A strong creative background that supports UX methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects from start to finish.
- Experience reporting to, presenting to, and engaging with Product Owners and Heads of departments.
- Proven track record in conducting user research, interviews, surveys, and usability studies, and translating these findings into actionable UX requirements.
- Strong experience in translating feature requirements into compelling visual designs across various platforms.
- Extensive usability testing experience.
- Proficiency in using various UX tools.
- Experience in championing design thinking principles for a diverse range of products.
Knowledge:
- Excellent understanding of User Experience design principles, best practices, and current trends.
- Expert knowledge of UX design techniques, including prototyping.
- Expert understanding of visual elements such as layout, typography, and fonts.
- Expert understanding of how to effectively apply UX tools, techniques, and principles in design.
- Familiarity with Agile project management principles.
Ideal Skills & Experience (Advantageous)
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Design.
Experience:
- Experience within the financial sector.
- Additional creative background supporting UX methodologies.
- Experience or background in analytics.
- Proficiency in Figma.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of psychology, anthropology, and/or behavioural science as it relates to CX/UX principles.
- Knowledge of analytics and data interpretation.
Skills Required
- Strong decision-making abilities.
- Proficient project management skills (specific to methodologies).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
