

Manager: Credit Reporting
Are you an experienced credit reporting professional with a strong commercial mindset? Capitec Bank is looking for an energetic and self-motivated Manager for Credit Reporting to join our team in Stellenbosch.
In this crucial role, you will lead our retail credit reporting and business case function, enabling executive leadership to make clear, quick, and confident decisions. You will be instrumental in translating complex retail credit data into actionable commercial strategies, ensuring disciplined controls and a strong focus on business outcomes.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Your primary goal will be to transform retail credit data into impactful commercial decisions. This involves:
- Providing a single, reliable source of truth for both internal management information (MI) and external communications.
- Delivering executive-ready insights that actively shape our strategy and improve performance.
- Developing robust business cases and accurately tracking their pre- and post-implementation benefits.
- Building investor and prudential confidence through precise and reconciled financial disclosures.
- Driving automation and business intelligence (BI) enablement to enhance quality and reduce reporting cycle times.
Who We’re Looking For (Requirements)
Experience
- Overall Experience: 8–12 years in total.
- Specific Industry Experience: At least 6 years in retail credit or consumer finance.
- Leadership Experience: 3–5 years leading reporting/analytics teams and managing cross-functional projects.
- Technical Skills: Proven capability in Power BI/SQL. Experience with Python/ETL is a plus.
- Financial Modelling: Hands-on experience with financial modelling (NPV/IRR/payback) and benefits tracking.
- Regulatory Exposure: Exposure to prudential reporting (e.g., BA returns) and investor cycles is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) in Accounting – Financial Accounting or Commerce.
- Ideal: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) in Accounting – Financial Accounting or Commerce.
Knowledge & Skills
This role is inherently commercial, focusing on optimising credit performance and informing critical pricing and policy decisions. A professional with a CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) background would be an excellent fit, bringing:
- Business Partnering Mindset: Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with Product, Finance, and Credit teams.
- Decision Support Expertise: Strong skills in NPV/IRR modelling, scenario analysis, and performance tracking.
- Strategic MI Capability: Ability to create insightful, data-driven reports that influence Executive Committee (EXCO) and Retail Credit Management Committee (RCMC) decisions.
- Key Skills: Commercial Thinking, Decision-making, Leadership, Management, and Problem-solving skills.
