

Administrator: Dean (internal only)
Are you a highly motivated and organised administrator looking for a challenging role at a leading South African university? The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is looking for a dedicated Administrator to support the Dean’s Office within the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS).

As the successful candidate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all administrative procedures align with central university systems.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position where you will act as a personal assistant to the Dean, managing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Dean’s Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as Personal Assistant to the Dean.
- Office coordination and diary management for the Dean.
- Handling all internal and external office correspondence.
- Liaising with internal and external clients effectively.
- Managing budget administration, including control and procurement processes.
- Arranging travel for the Dean and related staff.
- Coordinating events, workshops, team-building activities, and training sessions.
- Developing and maintaining robust systems for information management and meeting preparation.
- Ensuring an efficient and well-organised filing system.
- Assisting with HR administration tasks related to the Dean’s Office.
- Performing any other administrative duties as assigned by the Dean.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative work experience, OR
- Matric (Grade 12) plus an NQF Level 6 qualification and a minimum of 3 years of relevant administrative work experience.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

- Previous experience in a similar secretarial or personal assistant role within a higher education institution.
