

Business Banker: Merchant Services

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Be the go-to expert for merchant services, guiding business clients through tailored payment solutions.
- Drive new business acquisition with confidence and resilience, setting the pace for growth.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), understanding their unique needs and delivering value.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and excellent client satisfaction.
- Stay ahead of market trends and bring innovative ideas to the table to improve payment solutions.
What You’ll Need (Requirements)
Experience
- At least 2-3 years of proven experience in an external sales environment, with responsibility for or exposure to cross-selling and upselling.
- A natural “hunter” mindset, thriving on chasing and closing new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen and a knack for identifying growth potential in businesses.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Resilience, confidence, and a genuine passion for helping businesses succeed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Marketing.
Knowledge
Minimum Knowledge:
- Understanding of the commercial, economic, and SME landscape (especially in the Rustenburg geographic area).
- Solid knowledge of sales and sales optimisation techniques and principles.
- Commercial/business know-how (how businesses operate).
- Principles of client relationship management.
- Effective engagement and conflict management practices.
- Understanding of a performance-driven culture.
Ideal Knowledge:
- Knowledge and understanding of the broader business banking landscape and product offerings.
- Familiarity with the payment solutions environment (merchant services).
- Understanding of stock control and Point of Sale (POS) Solutions.
- Specific knowledge of Capitec Bank’s Acquiring product portfolio.
