About the Role

As a Product Specialist in Business Banking – CED, you will be responsible for a crucial part of our product development cycle. You will translate complex business requirements into clear processes, ensuring all activities comply with regulatory standards and enhance our client’s experience. This role involves close collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders to drive product development and delivery from start to finish. You’ll also support the Product Manager with end-to-end product management, including technical aspects like API understanding and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into detailed processes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, especially in credit products.
  • Optimize the client experience for banking products.
  • Coordinate with technical and business stakeholders for product development and delivery.
  • Support the Product Manager with end-to-end product management.
  • Understand and apply technical knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Prepare and deliver progress updates and presentations to stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 National Certificate.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Project Management.

Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in Product Management and Product Development, specifically within credit products.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong technical understanding, including APIs, system integrations, and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements in Credit (e.g., POPIA, NCA).
  • Excellent domain knowledge of client needs, competitor landscapes, and international best practices.
  • Proven accountability for delivery and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to take ownership of change management initiatives.
  • Skilled in business requirement gathering and process mapping.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management abilities.
  • Effective communication, including presenting and translating information for diverse audiences.
  • Leadership and people skills for managing relationships.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving, especially in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and drive projects with quick turnarounds.
