

Faculty Officer (Internal Only) – University of the Western Cape
The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is looking for a dedicated and motivated Faculty Officer to join their team. This permanent, full-time position is for internal candidates only. You will provide essential administrative support to the Faculty Office, ensuring all processes align with central university systems and procedures. This role is crucial for delivering professional support to academics, students, and staff within the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Faculty Manager, the Faculty Officer will play a vital role in the smooth operation of the Faculty Office. Your duties will involve the administration and execution of various tasks to support the Faculty’s mission and ensure efficient functioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic administration throughout the student lifecycle.
- Marks administration.
- Managing and resolving enquiries.
- Committee administration, including minute-taking.
- Support with marketing, branding, and student recruitment efforts.
- Meeting coordination and general office administration.
- HR administration tasks.
- Financial administration tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- A Degree or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a Higher Education environment.
Advantageous Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with university administrative systems.
- Previous experience working as a Faculty Administrative Officer.
- Experience with committee administration.
Required Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Intermediate to expert proficiency in computer office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Good writing and minute-taking skills.
- High level of stress tolerance.
