About the Role: Software Test Analyst (Level 3)

As a Senior Software Test Analyst within our Fraud and Security team, you will be crucial in ensuring the quality and security of our banking systems. This is a hands-on role where you will tackle complex testing across multiple projects, focusing on protecting our clients from critical risks like fraud and cybercrime.

You will also be responsible for guiding and mentoring Level 2 Test Analysts, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor Level 2 Test Analysts.
• Perform complex functional testing across both front-end and back-end systems.
• Run test scripts, validate databases, and test APIs to ensure robust security solutions.
• Work in a fast-paced, pressurized environment while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Contribute to the delivery of secure, client-focused solutions.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational (Minimum)
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Software Testing or Information Technology (Minimum)
• National Diploma in Information Technology (Ideal)
• ISTQB Foundation certification (Minimum requirement)

Experience:

• 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) testing within a business context.
• Solid experience in functional testing, covering both back-end and front-end.
• Ability to run scripts, perform database validations, and test across different layers (front-end, API, back-end).
• Experience in or exposure to coaching and mentoring other test team members.
• Industry experience in fraud, security, or financial services is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of Capitec’s Way of Work (WoW) during projects (Ideal).
• Understanding of end-to-end testing processes, impact analysis, SDLC, common software failures, and various software domains.
• Experience in a continuous delivery environment and applying test automation tools (Ideal).
• Knowledge of Financial/Banking Systems and SQL Query/Fundamentals (Ideal).
