ASSMANG Iron Ore has an incredible Engineering Learnership Programme that could be your ticket to gaining valuable, lifelong technical skills. The ASSMANG Iron Ore Engineering Learnership Programme (also known as the 18.2 Learnership Training Programme) is designed to give talented, unemployed South African youth a real-world head start. It’s an intensive, structured training program that equips you with practical, in-demand engineering skills, ensuring you’re job-ready and contributing to your community.

Who Can Apply?

This learnership is open to unemployed South African youth who meet the following requirements. Preference will be given to candidates from Gamagara and John Taolo Gaetsewe Municipal Areas in the Northern Cape, aligning with the Employment Equity Plan.

Instrumentation Mechanician

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science

Plater/Welder

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
  • Plater/Welder Engineering N2 Certificate

Fitter

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
  • Fitter Engineering N2 Certificate

Electrician

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
  • Electrical Engineering N2 Certificate

Millwright

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
  • Electrical & Fitter Engineering N2 Certificate

What Does It Cover?

This program isn’t about traditional funding for university fees; it’s a hands-on, paid training opportunity! The ASSMANG Iron Ore Engineering Learnership provides comprehensive, structured training in critical engineering trades within the mining industry. You’ll gain practical experience and theoretical knowledge that will set you up for a successful career. The learnership is available in these exciting fields:

  • Instrumentation Mechanician
  • Plater/Welder
