CLINICAL NURSE PRACTITIONER Vacancy

The Department of Social Development is looking for a dedicated Clinical Nurse Practitioner to join their team at the Dr Fabian and Florence Ribeiro Treatment Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professional nurses to contribute to primary healthcare services.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing and promoting quality nursing care in a primary healthcare environment, adhering to professional standards and legislative mandates. This role requires strong clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to ethical practice.

Key Requirements

  • Qualification: A basic R425 qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) or an equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Post-Basic Qualification: A post-basic qualification of at least one year in Curative Skills in Primary Health Care, accredited with SANC.
  • Registration: Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of appropriate and recognizable nursing experience after registering as a Professional Nurse with SANC in general nursing.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of nursing legislation, policy mandates, and ethical nursing practices relevant to primary healthcare. Familiarity with nursing care practices and procedures applicable in the institution.
  • Skills: Strong project management, analytical, report writing, monitoring and evaluation, communication, people management, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices within a primary healthcare setting.
  • Perform clinical nursing duties in line with the scope of practice and established nursing standards for a primary healthcare facility.
  • Champion and promote high-quality nursing care, guided by professional scope of practice and standards within the facility.
  • Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of Human Resources (HR) and financial policies and practices.
