  • It’s super important that you haven’t previously served as a Graduate Intern or contract worker in the Public Service.
  • If you have qualifications from outside South Africa, a SAQA evaluation might be requested later.

What Does It Cover?

This programme offers a fantastic chance to gain experience with financial support. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Contract Period: A solid 24 months on a fixed-term contract (2025-2027).
  • Stipend: You’ll receive a monthly stipend to support you during your learning journey!
    • Graduate Interns: R7 860.40 per month
    • WIL Students: R6 659.40 per month

  • You’ll need a completed, initialled, and signed New Z83 application form. Make sure to clearly state the field of study you’re applying for!
  • Prepare your Comprehensive CV.

📌 Important: You only need to submit your Z83 and CV at this stage. Certified copies of qualifications and other supporting documents will only be requested from candidates who are shortlisted.

Step 2: Choose Your Application Method (and remember your Reference Number!)

You can apply via email, post, or hand delivery. Make sure to quote the correct Reference Number for the position you’re interested in.

  • Email: Send your Z83 and CV as a single PDF document to Internship2025@dhet.gov.za. Don’t forget to quote the Reference Number in the subject line (e.g., “Application – [Ref No] – [Your Full Name]”).
  • Post: Address your application to The Director-General, DHET, Private Bag X174, Pretoria, 0001 (Attention: Training and Development Unit).
