  • You must hold a BA in Social Work.
  • You need to be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
  • Be prepared for placement in various locations including Head Office, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Sedibeng, West Rand, Johannesburg, and other departmental institutions.

For the Social Auxiliary Work Internship (Reference: Refs/022668):

  • You must have an FETC NQF Level 4 or 5 in Social Auxiliary Work.
  • You also need to be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP).
  • Like the Social Work interns, you should be ready for placement across various corridors and institutions within the department.

What Does It Cover?

  • Social Work Graduate Internship: You’ll receive a stipend of R7 860.50 per month.
  • Social Auxiliary Work Internship: Your stipend will be between R5 639.75 – R6 659.25 per month, depending on your NQF level.

How to Apply?

  • Apply Online ONLY: All applications must be submitted via the GPG Professional Job Centre. No faxed or emailed applications will be accepted, so don’t even try!
