- Your chosen host institution must be located in a developing country. Important: Institutions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in China are NOT eligible under this specific programme. Make sure to check if your preferred host is a CAS institute if you’re considering China.
What Does It Cover?
The TWAS Fellowships are designed to make your international research experience accessible:
- **Duration:** Fellowships are offered for a minimum of three months and a maximum of twelve months.
- **Travel:** TWAS will cover your international low-cost airfare to your host country.
- **Subsistence:** You’ll receive a contribution towards your living expenses, amounting to a maximum of USD 300 per month.
- **Host Institution Support:** It’s expected that your host institution will provide accommodation and food, along with all the necessary research facilities you’ll need for your work. This is a crucial part of the support package!
