The New Generation of Academics Programme (nGAP) is a Department of Higher Education and Training nationally funded programme that involves recruiting a new cohort of young academics.
Job Description
The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Johannesburg is seeking to make a permanent appointment of a lecturer in the Department of Emergency Medical Care.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the projects of the Department and teach in undergraduate modules and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitate teaching, learning and assessment activities for undergraduate emergency medical care students.
- Participate in, and facilitate, clinical learning and/or related WIL, simulated learning events and placements.
- Develop and refine course materials.
- Publish peer-reviewed papers in accredited scholarly journals and deliver papers at national and international conferences.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Minimum Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Emergency Medical Care (NQF-9) or an appropriate professional qualification (NQF-9) in the field of emergency medical care with a mark of70% or more.
- Two years of registration (and currently registered) with the HPCSA as an Emergency Care Practitioner.
- Code B driver’s license.
