Who Can Apply?

- You need to be a South African citizen.
- You must have already completed Matric or be in your final Matric year right now.
- Got solid grades? You’ll need at least 60% (or Level 5) for English, Mathematics, and Physical Science in Matric.
- You should be planning to study one of these exciting fields in 2026: Bachelor of Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Nautical Science, or Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch (Desk Officer).
- Your studies must be at a recognised and accredited University or a SAMSA-accredited training facility.
- Important: You shouldn’t be receiving any other bursary funding for 2026 – this bursary is for un-bonded students.
What Does It Cover?

- At a minimum, it will cover your tuition fees. That’s a huge weight off your shoulders, right?
- Depending on available funds and your personal circumstances, it might also cover your textbooks and accommodation in residence. So, make sure to share your circumstances clearly!
