Job Summary
The Department of Biochemistry, within the Faculty of Science, is a hub for teaching, research and training, integrating Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies such as AI, machine learning and omics sciences to address global challenges in health, biotechnology, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning: Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, implement innovative teaching strategies, and deliver structured and effective teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Research & Innovation: Embed research and innovation into education, participate in departmental research activities, and secure external funding.
- Academic Administration: Manage and coordinate teaching, learning, and research administration, oversee curriculum management, and support research administration.
- Community Engagement & Societal Impact: Contribute to institutional and community development, embed societal impact and sustainability in research, and lead outreach and service activities.
Minimum Requirements
For Senior Lecturer: PhD in Biochemistry or a closely related field, proven teaching and lecturing experience, and a track record of research and publication.
For Lecturer: MSc in Biochemistry or a closely related field, proven teaching and lecturing experience, and a demonstrated potential for postgraduate supervision and mentorship.
