Who Can Apply?
Think you’ve got what it takes? AGSA is looking for bright, driven South African citizens who meet these criteria:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be currently in Matric OR have already completed Matric.
- You must be studying or planning to study full-time towards one of these SAICA-accredited Chartered Accountancy qualifications:
- BCom Accounting CA stream
- Bachelor of Accounting CA stream
- BCompt
- Your chosen university must be accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
Specific academic requirements depending on your current level:
- If you’re in Matric (applying for 1st year in 2026):
- Achieve a Matric exemption with university entrance.
- Score at least 60% for Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy).
- Score at least 60% for English.
- You’ll be entering your 1st year of study in 2026 for a listed CA qualification.
- If you’re a 1st-year student (applying for 2nd year in 2026):
- Achieve at least 60% for Financial Accounting.
- Achieve at least 60% for Mathematics (NOT Mathematical Literacy) and English in Matric.
- You’ll be entering your 2nd year of study in 2026 for a listed CA qualification.
- If you’re a 2nd-year student (applying for 3rd year in 2026):
- Achieve at least 60% for Financial Accounting.
- Achieve at least 60% for Management Accounting.
- You’ll be entering your 3rd year of study in 2026 for a listed CA qualification.
- If you’re a final-year student (applying for postgraduate studies in 2026):
- Achieve at least 55% for all core modules of your qualification.
- You must be studying towards one of the listed CA qualifications.
- You’ll be entering your postgraduate studies in 2026.
- You must have gained acceptance into a CTA programme.

What Does It Cover?
