What Does It Cover?

The Ingrain Bursary aims to ease your financial burden so you can focus on your studies. If you’re successful, this bursary will cover:

  • Tuition fees
  • Textbooks
  • Accommodation (where applicable)

Just a heads-up: the bursary does NOT cover any outstanding fees from previous academic periods, so make sure your accounts are clear!

Who Can Apply?

Think you have what it takes? Check if you meet these eligibility requirements:

  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You need to be between 18 and 34 years old.
  • You must have successfully completed your Matric.
  • You should be studying towards a BEng degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • You must be in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of study.
  • Your studies must be at a public University or University of Technology in South Africa.
  • You must not be funded by any other bursary scheme.
  • You must be unemployed and demonstrate a proven financial need.
  • Students living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply!

How to Apply?

  2. Make sure your email subject line is: “Unemployed Youth Bursary”
  3. Attach these essential documents to your email:
    • A certified copy of your ID document.
    • A copy of your Matric certificate.
    • Your most recent academic transcripts (showing your university results).
    • Your detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Remember, the closing date is 25 September 2025. Don’t leave it until the last minute – get your application in before the deadline, as late submissions won’t be considered!
