  • You must be planning to study or currently studying full-time towards an NQF7 qualification or higher (like a Bachelor’s Degree or Honours). Sorry, no N4/5/6, Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Masters, or Doctoral studies are covered by this specific bursary!
  • Your studies must be at a DHET/CHE registered university or tertiary institution. This bursary doesn’t cover TVETs, Community Colleges, Graduate/Business Schools, or distance learning institutions like UNISA.
  • You need to have achieved a Bachelor’s Pass in Matric with a minimum average of 65%.
  • If you’re already studying, you must maintain a minimum average of 65% for your latest full academic years (2024 and 2025 so far).
  • Preference may be given to students who are on track to finish their qualification in the minimum required time and align with Capitec’s transformation and employment equity goals.

What Does It Cover?

  2. Make sure you have all your supporting documents ready. You’ll need to submit clear, certified copies of the following (don’t miss any, or your application might not be considered!):
    • Your ID document.
    • If you’re in Matric: Your Grade 11 final report and latest Grade 12 (Term 2) school report with the school stamp.
    • If you’ve completed Matric: Your Matric certificate.
    • If you’re currently studying: Your latest official academic transcripts (June 2025) and official 2025 university fee statements.
    • Your full tertiary academic records for all years of study, or a police affidavit if there’s a reason for missing records.
    • If you live in off-campus accommodation: Your lease agreement.
    • Parents or guardians’ ID documents/passports or death certificates.
    • Parents or guardians’ proof of household income (latest 3 months payslips if employed, company registration for self-employed, police affidavits if unemployed, SASSA documents if receiving a social grant).
    • Confirmation of any other funding received (e.g., NSFAS, other bursaries) – provide contracts, letters, or offers. If you’ve never received NSFAS or other funding, a police affidavit stating this.
    • If you are under 18 years old: A signed and completed consent form from your parent/legal guardian and their certified ID copy.
    • If you are disabled: A Department of Labour Employment Equity Act (EEA1) Form AND a Diagnosis Letter from your doctor.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 3 months of the closing date. If you don’t hear back, please consider your application unsuccessful. You might also be asked to go through screening, interviews, and psychometric assessments.
