FICA Compliance Officer

Our client, a professional services/law firm in Cape Town, is seeking a FICA Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance and legal expertise to ensure the company’s adherence to legal standards and internal policies.

Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Law or a similar field, and admission as an attorney in South Africa will be an advantage. A minimum of5 years of experience as a Compliance Officer is required, with solid FICA experience and certification in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance, AML, etc.) being a plus.

Key Responsibilities

The FICA Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing and managing control systems to prevent or address legal and policy violations, providing legal advice on compliance issues, and continuously evaluating and improving control efficiency. Other responsibilities include drafting and implementing company policies, collaborating with legal and HR teams, and preparing detailed reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
