Chief Director: Integrated Development and Spatial Planning
The Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Director to lead the Integrated Development and Spatial Planning directorate.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the support and monitoring of the development of municipal Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) across the Gauteng City Region (GCR), implementing the District Development Model (DDM), and coordinating local economic development.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a Matric plus NQF level7/Bachelor’s Degree in the Built Environment, coupled with5 years’ working experience at a senior managerial level in Urban Planning, Development Planning, Spatial Planning, or a related field. A post-graduate qualification in the development planning, spatial planning, urban planning, town/urban and regional planning will be an added advantage.
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the support and monitoring of the development of municipal IDPs across the GCR
- Implementing the District Development Model (DDM) across the GCR
- Coordinating local economic development across the GCR
- Managing the development and review of the Gauteng Spatial Development Framework
- Managing support to develop, review, and implement municipal Spatial Development Frameworks
