Manco Compliance Officer
Our client, a dynamic and growing financial services company, is seeking an experienced Manco Compliance Officer to join their compliance team in Cape Town.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have at least4 years of experience within the Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) space and a strong understanding of CISCA. This role is responsible for managing the operational, day-to-day compliance requirements within the CIS environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant degree (e.g., Law, Finance, Compliance, or related field)
- Certificate/Diploma in Compliance Management
- Membership with the Compliance Institute (advantageous, but not compulsory)
- Minimum of4 years’ experience in a compliance environment within the Collective Investment Scheme space
- Previous Manco (Management Company) experience is essential
- Strong knowledge and understanding of CISCA
- Highly goal-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strategic thinker and problem solver, with the ability to be hands-on
Key Responsibilities
- Manage FSCA applications, submissions, and respond to related queries
- Review and ensure all marketing material complies with applicable legislation
- Submit and review Minimum Disclosure Documents (MDDs)
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring of outsourced providers
- Collaborate with the Money Laundering Compliance Officer to embed the Risk Management and Compliance Program
- Address FICA-related queries, provide training, and promote a compliance culture within the team
- Perform AML due diligence on third-party managers, both new and ongoing
- Provide input into entity due diligence questionnaires and complete AML questionnaires for external, including offshore, parties
- Conduct ongoing monitoring reviews of activities performed by outsourced partners and produce finalized reports
- Work closely with Investment Managers on the development of new funds, ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the process
- Create and review application forms, acting as custodian for all forms
- Conduct policy reviews and act as custodian for company policies
- Communicate regulatory developments and changes to marketing and management teams
- Engage with portfolio managers and business units on compliance matters
Salary: Market related – depends on qualifications and experience.
