About the Future is Bright Bursary Programme 2026
The Hollywood Foundation has officially opened applications for its highly anticipated Future is Bright Bursary Programme 2026. As part of the foundation’s My Education pillar, this flagship bursary aims to empower ambitious and academically deserving South African youth—bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace.
This programme is more than just financial assistance. It provides holistic developmental support, helping learners transition successfully from high school or tertiary education into the workforce with purpose, skills, and confidence.
Fields of Study Supported in 2026
The 2026 bursary programme focuses on high-demand disciplines that align with South Africa’s economic priorities:
- Finance & Accounting
- Digital Marketing / Marketing & Communication
- Information Technology & Computing
- Data Science
Who Should Apply?
Grade 12 Learners
- Minimum 65% average
- Planning to study one of the above disciplines in 2026
Current Tertiary Students
- Minimum 60% average in the most recent academic term
- Must be enrolled at a DHET-registered South African tertiary institution
- Studying a qualification that is at least 12 months in duration
General Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must submit:
- Proof of university application or acceptance
- A motivation letter outlining:
- Career goals
- Academic aspirations
- Why you deserve the bursary
- Incomplete or incorrect applications will not be considered
What the Bursary Covers
- Full or partial tuition funding depending on financial need and academic merit
- Holistic development support including mentorship, study skills programmes, and transition-to-career resources
