Applications are now open for the 2025 RMI’s Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship. RMI’s Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship is now accepting applications from women professionals in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Zambia. This fellowship is designed to empower emerging leaders with the skills, networks, and resources needed to drive the clean energy transition in their countries and beyond.
Launched by RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA), the fellowship supports women leaders in the Global South to grow their technical, leadership, and strategic capacities in clean energy. The inaugural cohort—delivered in partnership with local and global actors, including AMP—will kick off in June 2025.
Requirements
The program is looking for early to mid-career women who:
- Are currently working on clean energy projects or policies in Nigeria, Ethiopia, or Zambia
- Are passionate about leadership, innovation, and social impact in the energy space
- Want to grow their network and drive meaningful change in their communities
The fellowship offers:
- Technical Training on distributed energy resources and local business models
- Project Management skills, including risk mitigation, procurement, and finance
- Group Mentorship with women energy leaders from across sectors
- Peer Networking with other passionate women across the region
- Capstone Project to develop a clean energy policy, initiative, or strategy in your country
Application Timeline:
- Duration: June 16 – October 31, 2025
- Format: Online (mix of live and self-paced content)
- Time Commitment: ~15 hours/month
- 2 live sessions/month (1.5 hours each)
- ~3 hours/week of self-paced learning
