What is this EASTC Technocentric Varsity Bursary?
This “bursary” is actually a golden ticket to several Engineering and Trade Learnerships and Skills Programmes. These programs are designed to give you structured technical training combined with hands-on, on-the-job experience. It’s all happening in Kempton Park, Gauteng, preparing you for highly sought-after careers in various trades.
They’re looking to empower hundreds of young South Africans across these exciting fields:
- Electrician (200 beneficiaries – 12 Months Learnership)
- Plumber (300 beneficiaries – 13 Months Skills Programme)
- Boilermaker
- Civil Construction (300 beneficiaries – 13 Months Skills Programme)
- Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration (200 beneficiaries – 12 Months Learnership)
- Welding (200 beneficiaries – 12 Months Learnership)

Who Can Apply?
Ready to see if you qualify? Here’s what you need to know:
- You must be a South African youth.
- You need to reside in Gauteng Province.
- There are NO age restrictions for these programmes – yes, you heard that right!
- People living with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Academic Requirements:
- For Welding, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration, and Electrical Learnerships: You’ll need at least Grade 11 with Mathematics, OR a minimum Level 4 in Mathematical Literacy.
- For Building & Civil Construction and Plumbing Skills Programmes: A Grade 9 qualification is required. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant trade experience.

- Your comprehensive CV (Curriculum Vitae)
- Your latest academic qualifications (e.g., matric certificate, previous N levels, etc.)
